Arrakis Bioenergy was born from a desire: to transform academic knowledge into real solutions for sustainable development. Founded in 2024 in Camaçari, Bahia, we are an academic spin-off of the University of Campinas (Unicamp), the result of an innovative research project in partnership with Senai Cimatec and Shell. Our origins are deeply rooted in science and a commitment to exploring the immense potential of biomass as a renewable energy source.
The starting point was the study of agave, a plant highly adapted to semi-arid climates and with enormous potential for bioenergy production. This project revealed a promising opportunity: the creation of a company focused on sustainable solutions for the energy sector. Thus, Arrakis Bioenergy was born, combining cutting-edge research and entrepreneurial vision to develop technologies that meet the demands of a rapidly changing market.
